How low can I get with stock struts
Like the title suggests I am looking to purchase springs and wondering how low some of you have went without blowing out struts. I'm only worried cause I was about 1.5 on an EM2 and blew those struts. Thanks in advance
Regardless of how low or not low you go, you're going to end up blowing them sooner or later. It's just a matter of time. Get yourself some Koni yellows down the road.
Well I figured that. When I put springs on my Civic it was about 3 weeks and both fronts blew. About how low can I go without correcting camber?
Heard anything good about Intrax springs? I've never heard of them but it's a nice moderate drop..kinda what I'm looking for. It says 1.4in f/r. Would I need to adjust camber with these? Thanks again. Sorry for the noob questions
yes with any drop you should get an alignment after you install them. usually a week or 2 after as stated earlier to let the springs settle. but ive never heard of intrax springs

ive already put on 13K on stock shocks with Swift Springs and there still the ****... i bought an extra set of stockers for real cheep just in case they go...
our oem shocks are basically on steroids compared to your EM2 shocks... they can handle the additional abuse...

It depends on so many things, there's never any telling exactly how long. It depends on the mileage, the way you drive, the springs, etc.

Haha. I bought my s2k in September and pretty much babied it until I put it away for the winter. It's an 02 with 32k miles. I don't plan on beating it
ive had skunk2 on stock shocks for close to 10k miles and also drive the crap out of it. im ready to get some konis when they go but i have a feeling there gonna be ok for a while.

i wouldnt go past -3 in the rear as s@nt0s has stated, and i have seen it in person as well...after that itll just looked weird, wont ride well, and your tires will be eaten up in a hurry... a lot of people are running the UK spec and couldnt be happier... im going with a hybrid when the snow melts... -2.2 rear, -1.2 front a lil more aggressive that the UK but not too crazy... hope that helps

Dont baby it!!! Its an Honda S2000 it will take the abuse. AS long as you know how to drive beating on it wont really hurt. Plus its not that much fun to drive if your not flyin in and out of corners and on/off ramps; vtec feels so good coming out of the apex in a corner. Your suspenssion components might start to wear sooner but hey you can allways go aftermarket. If your not beating on it then you shouldnt be driving it.
As for the struts. I got Espelir ASD's on my stockers and its been about 5-6k with them and my struts are fine. Did I mention they have 79k on them now?

ive got ground controls on stock shocks with over 50k miles on them (before i installed them a few oil changes ago, so its only maybe 6k miles with the GC). the springs are 400/375 right now. not too far from stock actually. ive tried several spring rates, these are ok. however, im ONLY lowered 1/2" total all around.
youre probably not interested in my small drop, but what i will say is that i found that if i go any lower in the rear, there is a bumper screw that WILL rub the tire. anyone who wants to go lower has to relocate this screw and shave down the offending bumper plastic. its not much, but you should be aware of it. but after that, theres a lot more room too lower.
could also be because of the aftermarket 8" wide wheels in the back with a 48 offset. not sure if its a problem with stock wheels. i havent heard it rub when im on track and i use my stock wheels for the track.
i have somewhat of a UK alignment too. but i think one of the rear corners is near 3 negative, just because the tech didnt bother, doesnt bother me either. and i dont get any uneven tire wear. the toe is fine, and thats all that matters with tire wear.

1. its because of your aftermarket rims
2. stockers wont rub on the nut
3. then your car isnt aligned if one of the rear corners is at -3 and the other is at a different setting...it would bother me and expletive that tech, bring it back and make him fix it... the reason he doesnt care is because it isnt his car...
