OT: Toyo tire size comparison?
i currently have (puke) Toyo Proxies FZ4 tires in 205/45/16 size. they royally suck *** in all types of weather/pavment. i'm going to sell them.....
i have a oppertunity to get Toyo T1-S 16" tires for a good price........would going to a 215/40/16 improve the contact patch enough to make a noticable diffrence? would the 40 series help with acceleration much over the 45 series?
over all would going from a 45 series to a 40 series make the ride any more harsher since the sidewall is thinner?
i dont see any draw backs to at all going to that tire size. the T1-S will grip MUCH better and they are about 4lbs a tire lighter than the FZ4's...........

205/45/16 tires have a side wall height of 92.25mm
215/40/16 sidewalls are 86mm in height.
so the overall height difference between tires is 92.25-86 = 6.25 x 2 = 13mm or 0.5"
Your acceleration would improve slightly as there is less rolling diameter, the ride might get a little harsher but only ever so slightly as the difference in side wall height is just over 6mm or 1/4"
