Firefighter help!
I have normally used trucks for my firefighting response, but since I traded for my EX Coupe some time ago I must use it now for fire response. If anyone is also using a 2006 up civic for their fire response vehicle, please please let me know where the heck you put the siren speaker at! I am installing some LED blue lights just above the rear license plate since I have tinted windows, LED blue lights on the lower grill in the front, Strobes in the revers tails and headlight high beams, and a pair of blue strobes on each side of the rear view mirror looking front.

with your vehicle, it would be best to mount the siren box behind your upper grille... civics are not made for emergency vehicle operations; therefore, i would not spend too much money on it. all of my emergency vehicle lighting are inside the vehicle... leds are briight !
Thanks for your suggestions everyone! Yes I will definately post some pics of everything when I get it all installed. It was either put this stuff on my EX Coupe, or the EX Pilot (the wif's) so now you see why mine gets the lights! LOL

Does that mean that The Colorado State Patrol's Subaru WRX STi is not an emergency vehicle? Just because it is not commonly used as one or what?

I'm not arguing. its just fukcing pisses me off when Volleys come flying up and cut over the double yellow and cause almost cause 9 accidents on the way to save someones broken finger.
state police and a volley w/ blue lights who thinks they are given special rights are at the complete opposite ends of the spectrum.

Well yes, they still need to obey the laws of the road, but people should be yielding to a vehicle that has lights/sirens, etc. Not saying it gives the guy the right to drive like a douche lol...

I know there are a few guys around here that abuse their lights. I was driving down the road going about 5 over the speed limit and this truck comes flying up on my bumper. He turns his lights on so I move over he goes a little ways down the road and turns them off. WTF. Thats why I only move over for cops, ambulances, and fire trucks.
Not say that you do that but I do understand were exhaust_note is coming from

they also have really cool dual sport Honda motor cycles in Holland.v twin dirt bikes with lights. not only do we left out on the cool cars here in the stats but motor cycles too. yea as far as the volley's go i have one that fly's thru my hood at least 3 times a month, doing 80 mph on 25 mph road with lights and sirens blaring in a fire chief ford Taurus. what a jerk.
Well, I mounted my LED's (rear set, blue) using my top license plate screws and it is very affective! I am using a visor LED light (blue/clear) for front lights and if I can find a place on the front lower grill I will mount my other two blue LED's there but they will be kinda low to be affective. I just cant find a decent place to mount the speaker. I took the front cover off tonight and there just isnt enough room for a 100 watt siren speaker there, any way I put it. So, now Im just thinking of talking the wife into letting me put the stuff on the Pilot, and she can have the Civic!
We also have a black 2003 Pilot EX and I just love it! Yes, more than my Civic! But at 47 years old, Im supposed to love a Pilot!

exhaust_note it is true a blue light is technically only a curtisy light and being a volly myself, i do understand the rules regarding using a blue light, but you should take into consideration that every time you see a volly flying down the road that it always a broken finger, it could really be the difference in someone's life, and my second rant is that you dont know what exactly "Sarge! Carry On!" does, if he goes right to the scene then sure id expect him to want to put more lights in his car for your protection when its parked on the side of the road at night.
just my .02 cents
would like to see some pictures of the outcome and what lights you are using.
oh and btw what department are you in?

Yes, I have been involved in some form of public safety from law enforcement to hazmat and terrorism response instruction for most of my 47 years of life! I know how drivers can be out there. Some freeze up at the sight of any color lights, some make fun and dont get out of the way (and get called in!).
So far I have installed LED's (all blue) in the grill, on the top of the rear license plate, and a blue/clear visor LED. Thats probably it. None are visible by color until activated! One 1/4 wave vhf antenna on the left trunk lip. I like the plane look! Less distractive (or attractive to some). I will post when I get better weather and my new Tenzo wheels and tires mounted this weekend, I hope.
Oh, the unit is Butler County Fire Protection District in Southeast MO.

Get called in? LOL. No offense, but there is no law that says I HAVE to move out of the way for a Blue Lighter. Not that I won't pull over. I always pull aside, but there is no law saying I have to. I have to move for emergency vehicles (firetrucks, police cars, ambulance), but not a car or truck with blue flashing lights, that anyone could put on their car. Again, I would never deliberately block a firefighter or ems person flashing their lights (its an ******* thing to block them...god forbid I ever need them), but I don't legally have to move. You can "call it in" all you want, and maybe the cops would even pull someone over for doing it, but the bottom line is, they would have nothing to pin you with.
