Good find, that was a good video.

But just for measure with some of you, this isn't a AP1 V AP2 video. It's an AP2 with f20 V AP2 with a f22.

I don't think 8 ft or torque or whatever it is, is enough of a difference to cause that much of a difference in launch and initial acceleration. I dunno...

how do they both start at the same time and the 2.2 win and the 2.0 have a faster time?

Tsuchiya launched correctly in the f22...the other guy feathered the clutch a lot.

The 2.2l AP2's tranny has shorter ratio gearing than the 2.0l AP2 tranny. Through a certain part of the track this caused the car to be a tad slower due to more shifting. Not to mention Tsuchiya's wasn't using the greatest line around the track.

I hate that video. Tsuchiya makes any car look good he is one of the best drivers in japan. They should have put him in the f20c powered ap2.

8 pounds more tq , 9-10 more whp , shorter gearing = faster then your lame *** F20....... Just Kidding

But I wonder how the F22 would fair with the ap1 tranny ?

Nope. The AP2 diff housing is stronger.

Actually, it is the carrier end caps that are stronger. The housing is the same.

The gear sets in the diff are the same for both ap1 and ap2. The ratio difference is in the secondary reduction gear in the tranny.

the diff gearing is the same in the ap1 and ap2. And the 1st 2nd 3rd gears in the ap2 tranny are shorter then the ones in the ap1. I could be wrong about the trannys but I know 100% that the diff gearing is the same 4.10.
