Default FWD Rear suspension drag setup

Hey

I am currently running a fwd toyota levin AE92, weighs 2600lbs with driver.
I have been playing with rear suspension setups.
In theory you would want the rear to be stiff and not drop at all on the start so the front wheels have more weight on them. + making the rear higher than the front to transfer more direct weight to the front wheels.

Ok, I'm running 8kg rear springs with a failry stiff shock. I run the car pretty much level or even lower in the back than the front cos of the 26" tires i have to run. I tried raising the rear much higher than the front, this made me wheel spin so much more, i was still spinning in 3rd gear and it never does that, so i lowered the car back so it was level and the car was back to normal again.

Next meeting I tried using 18kg rear springs, this also caused alot of traction issues! just couldnt even get off the line properly, so I changed them back to my 8kg springs. Looking at vids of my car with the soft springs, once the back drops the car just goes, with the stiff springs the car didnt drop at all at the rear and just sat there wheel spinning.

my car is FWD not RWD so this has me a little puzzled.
Can any one explain why my car likes the rear to be lower/softer?
