Last Saturday I picked up this theft recovery ITR shell, still has a clean title
.
I've always wanted a 98 CW ITR, so when this one was for sale I had to ****** it up. I'm actually in the middle of building up a 2 liter for my EG, so this buildup might move a little slow for a month or two.
85% of the reason why I even wanted an ITR was to participate in the expo's, but sadly it won't be ready in time for the upcoming one. Right now there is a D16Y8 just to get around to the shop so I can restore it. I'm a tech at a Honda dealer in Miami.
It won't need much work to get it back to the way Honda left it. I have plans to pick up a 5 lug setup with GM ITR wheels on Thursday. Then I'll need to pick up the rlca and a Koni/GC 425f/500r setup. It needs little things like front upper strut bar, rear sway bar, the thieves butchered the wheel speed sensors so rather than fix the cluster fvck they left I'll just remove the ABS system. Then it'll need some sort of DOHC swap and CW paint.
Well on with the pictures
First day I drove it home after doing all the title/tag/insurance stuff.

Came with an extra rear bumper since the CW one was cracked. I added this sticker

And a pic of the EG project with my panda R in the background.

Yea I actually don't want to go through all the trouble of removing it. I'll have to inspect the system and see the extent of the damage. The harness going to the speed sensors and the sensors themselves are cut and missing. So I'll have to price everything out and see how much it'll cost me.

Actually the previous owner bought it as a stripped shell. He had plans on restoring it but sold it to me to buy an Evo. The black exterior and complete interior came from a 2000 ITR. The badge # is 00-0282.
I did a vin check from one of the fenders through carfax, and it was off a salvage title originally from NY. It was actually salvaged at 1500 miles according to carfax

Interesting. I have some info on 00-0282. She was picked up in 5/07 in FL, then sold again after that. Have pics of heR with your front bumper. Wonder what happened to heR.... I'll PM you the specifics in case you're curious.
