Default HELLLPP ELECTICAL =(

Ok so heres the story.

Black 1997 Civic EX
121,000 miles
Mostly stock D16Y8

Two weeks ago i was driving to work and all of a sudden my lights dim, gauges drop, radio starts cutting out and coming back on etc. So i shut the stereo off, shut my heat off, turned the fogs off, and pulled over. I popped the hood to check the battery wires and make sure they were on all the way etc. Well then my car died right when i was about to pull away. So i get a jump start and drive it home. The next day i put in a new battery and it was just fine.

Now last night i was driving to this girls house in Racine from Kenosha. Im on 31 crossing 52nd st and all of a sudden all the electricals went to hell again. So i was like ohhhh **** i know what comes next. So the light turns green and i start to go and the car starts to die in the middle of a very busy 3 lane road/intersection at night, black car, with my lights gone. I managed to keep it alive to get it away from the intersection and into the right lane before it died. So i got out and pushed it throught 5 inches of snow (still snowing) in a tshirt (the girl i had with me was shivering so i gave her my carhardtt) to a driveway for a bank to at least get it off the road.

My friends came and jump started me, we got it down the road to Kwik Trip and left it there for the night. I drove it down there with no lights on or anything and it ran fine. So i figured ok, ill get it in the morning when i wont need lights and ill drive it home just fine.

WRONG

My dad jumped it, and i made it from Kwik Trip to Pershing Blvd and then it died. So i was half way home, figured i could jump it one more time and make it home. Well again, wrong. I had to jump it 6 time to make it 4 blocks. Still not home, its about 5 blocks from my house.

I know that was kinda long but i wanted give every detail possible to figure it out.
My guess is either alternator or started or something is shorting out.
I just need to know what because i have a shitty job and no money and cant afford this

Any suggestions? Thanks guys

Get it to the local auto parts store, they will test for you, just make sure you have someone in another car follow you in case you need a jump. Seems to be alt since you can have the battery charged and it runs afterwards. Try to do this during the day so no headlights or any other electrical accessories.
