Need SCCA Solo II classification help
I have been reading through all of the classifications and I have no clue where I fit in. I have a 1988 Honda CRX Si with a 8 point roll cage and no interior except dash and seats. Everything else is stock(no suspension mods, no intake, stock headers/cat/exhaust). During my first autocross I was placed in SMII but I was later told that I was supposed to have door panels and carpet. Most of the local CRXs run in CSP. Can I run with them or do I have to have an interior? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Thanks!
Don't know the rules for that class but I do know that you DO need interior to fit in to the proper category. Stripping it bumps you way out of your league in most cases.
You can always use my loophole, since I also drive an 88 CRX Si. By definition, any car that is prepared to Improved Touring rules is also legal for the corresponding Street Prepared class. That means that my 88 is legal for ITA and CSP. You would have to either begin to replace parts and run in CSP, make your car IT legal and run in CSP, or run in modified and be uncompetitive.

But, in order to take advantage of the loophole, your car has to be fully prepped for ITA.
A full up ITA car will be competitive regionally with a good driver but probably mostly uncompetitive on a national level.
Good luck!
Prepping to IT specs may or may not be easy, I don't know if the rule requires a rule book, but you will have to be IT legal (down to teh wheels and firebottle) to be legal in CSP.
Alternatively, like other said, you will be in a more difficult class. I don't agree though with the classes that other folks listed.
I don't see why yor car would not be legal in DP (EP?) as it stands now. Also, E-Mod isn't correct, D-Mod is the correct modified class (D-Mod, under <2.0L, no forced induction).
