Default So i might buy this 2004 RSX-S, Opinions Please

So i went to the dealer today and they have a Bone Stock
2004 RSX-S with 42,000 miles for $17,000. I would be
paying $350\month and trading in my 2000 gs-r. The RSX is
6 speed manual and its Dark Blue almost black.

What do you guys think? I would be paying $50 more per month
for the RSX. Currently i pay $300\month for the gs-r and still
owe $7500. My gs-r is due for a timing belt change so i can
almost justifty paying the extra $50\month for the RSX.

Also if anyone has a carfax acct it would be awesome if you
can run this vin JH4DC53044S007687

Any opinions or input would be awesome..

Here is the link to the dealership web listing http://www.albanydodge.com/use...hcp=1

Here are a few pics.

Thanks Guys,
Chris

I hope that's not a five year loan. You'll be paying around $21,000 after your loan is paid off. I think that figures out to be 20-25% interest rate. I'de keep the GSR or look for a better deal.

Damn, I just got a quote from Geico to see how much it
would increase. Currently i pay $435 for a 6 month policy for
the gs-r, the RSX will be $560. I cant believe its that much more.

So the insurace would be an additional $30\month.
over what i am currently paying for the gs-r.
Thats an extra $80\month, That includes monthly
finance cost for the RSX and Insurance.

I dont know if i can swing that. Input would be great.
Maybe i should tuck some cash away and wait for something else.
Im a very impulsive person, I dont want to put myself in debt!!

Try Esurance or Travelers. They both got me great rates on my type s. I pay $117/month for my Type s and I am 24 and have 4 points.

I will do that, Thanks man.

If i am not mistaken, I think i shopped around when i got the gs-r
and e-surance could not beat geico.
Who knows i will try it again.

I have had my eye on the type s forever.

Ultimately if i dont get an RSX anytime soon i really would like to do a k-swap.

esurance was $23 cheaper for a 6 month policy.
I was really suprised. I still cant see paying 8k in interest.
Maybe i should go to my bank or a credit union and see
if they can give me a better rate. Thats what my girl did.

I don't understand how my friend bought an 06 with 25K+ on the odometer Type S, the jade metallic color for under 20K and you're going to be buying an 04 for a similar price if not more ::shrugs::

The price on the car he's looking at is fair. KBB on it is around $19k. It's the interest that's going to murder him.

My bank got me in the 6's as well. Credit unions will work with you a little more though.

if you could save up that kind of money first to pay in cash, that's a fair price. i payed ~17k with licensing and registering and what not in cash OTD. my rsx-s was an '02 with the tan interior(a minus to me) and about 75k miles. i was in a bind though because my em1 got stolen and my parents were ready to drop the bills for me!lol

I put a $300 deposit down on Sat, going to pick it up today!
I just can’t see paying almost 10,000 in interest, that’s crazy!!

It would be nice to pay cash in full but that is just not an option for most people.
I’m going to save a few bucks each week and just shop around. See what my bank
And a credit union can do for me as far as interest rates. The only downside to
using a bank for a loan is that now I have to sell the gs-r privately and that is a pita.

I can’t believe the dealer I went to had no problem at all selling me a car for 25,000
That is worth kbb value 18,900.

Thanks guys for all of your input,

Chris

Go in there with a compression tester and get them to lower the price....lol. I cant believe what people are paying for rsx now a days. I attempted selling my car for 18K with 28k miles on it last year and no one even bit. Car was stock and clean...

That car is black... Nighthawk Black Pearl to be exact.

Get it, $80 more a month for a Type S... No brainer IMO

its good to see u in the market for a dc5 after a dc2 just like me. i test drove an 05 rsx-s today with 37k miles for 18k. so i defintiely think u should look around more for an 05+ if ur gonna spend in the 17k range

You'd be getting almost the exact same deal that I am getting on my RSX. My RSX came with the exact same options, no spoiler, no fogs but I only had 31k when I purchased it. I really wanted mines so I ended up geting mines with a crazy interest rate. Insurance isn't that bad but I'm gonna try to have it paid off by 2009. I signed up for a 60 month and I have owned mines since May.
