hey guys,
recently did a cltuch and new flywheel on my friends 02 s2000.. factory flywheel, ACT clutch kit.. new release and pilot bearing..i know of the TSB so i made sure everything was torqued to spec...twice...his car did not have any vibration before now it does..im worried if this is something i did wrong or is it a friction disc problem..there is a sound from his driveshaft which i was told a carrier bearing is known to go on these..could it also be this buzz sound a 3500 deceleration.. .let me know what you guys think.

 

I was told by my guy that its common in S2Ks with an aftermarket disc. the springs in the hub have a diff rating than OEM which causes the buzz/rattle/vibration

 

Mine rattles like a ****. It's so damn loud. (I didn't have the OEM clutch buzz) However, the clutch still grabs hard, doesn't slip, and so on and I'm pushing 400+rwhp.


Did you resurface the flywheel?

 

i just recently had the ACT HD pp and street disc installed on my s2k too. it rattles from 2400-3100. really makes ur car sound like sh*t, but oh well. at least the disc will last longer than OEM (i think?).

most people use the ACT HD pressure plate and OEM disc (hard top guy sells a kit like this).

 

yeah the flywheel is new..honda doesnt recommend resurface they call for replacement...well that blows..its my friends car..ill just have to make him understand i guess..well thanks for the info.

You did use a MY02 disc, correct? They were updated in 02 for the TSB... Is it a constant buzz or only on negative load deceleration? I had the same problem with my MY00 disc (possibly order the wrong one on accident?).

I have no experience with ACT, as I am going with Competition Clutches...

just on deceleration..and its loud..and i can feel vibration in the clutch pedal and shift ****. iduno what disc it is...my friend bought the parts.. looked like the right one..
