Accessory belt tensioner removal on 98 accord v6
Ok so my brother thought the alternator was bad on his accord, turns out the belt was broken. So i put on a new belt and it starts to melt and smoke and turns out the accessory belt tensioner pulley was stuck, causing the belt to rub raw on it and melt away.
I removed the two belts securing the tensioner assembly but I still could not pull it off. I hammered it from the bottom and it seemed to rotated but I still can't get it off. I found a picture of a replacement one and there is a large hole in the back center. I'm guess there is some kind of rod that goes into the tensioner assembly from the block for more support.
The car has ~180,000 which is probably causing some of the stubbornness, but this is ridiculous. How do I get this thing off? Btw, it is very tight in there, fwd engines are no fun to work on that side.

well to take the pulley off you have to undo all the motor mounts and jack the motor up about 6 inches to take the pulley off to get the bolt out so it doesnt hit the side wall and remove it.
