Default 05 civic w/ heat probs

I was smart for once and went out and bought a new car (well in 05 it was new) an 05 special edition and bought the premium plan for service (cause for once i dident wnt to fix my cars) but come to find out it dosent cover s*** 50,000 the cv shaft went and the wouldent cover it than around 55,000 the 6 disk in dash stoped working and i had to pay out of pocket for all the work wile it sat at honda wile they fixed it but now here it is winter its been around 17deg steady you can go start the car early and it will get up to temp. leave the heat blasting but it will blow cold air you get in the car and back out the driveway and youll be sweating stop at the end and the car goes to an idle and it blows cold air.....stop sigh.....stop light .... so on and so forth.... but the car never changes engine temp..... i just dont wanna go and spend more money for no reason or is it a problem....

I would love to be able to help you out...but the world's longest sentence you just wrote has me somewhat confused.

If what I interperted was correct, then I believe you said the temperature of the air coming out of your vents will drastically change as your are driving? I've encountered heat that never gets hot, but I don't think I've ever heard of a car that will constantly change temps with it on one temperature setting (especially on such new of a car). I would start by checking your coolant flow through your hoses in the engine compartment. I'm not sure if this situation could be related to the valve behind your dash or not. I saw you said something about idle, but trying to decipher the sentence is hurting my head...so I'm giving up. Hopefully the next person has better luck.

k ill shorten this up a lil..... ill warm up the car 15 min befor i need to leave in the morning. the cars engine temp is at a normal running temp. witch would mean i have heat... so you turn the heat up all the way and it will blow cold air than you drive not even 10 feet and the air will blow hot almost to hot than you pull up to a stop light/ stop sign and the car will return to cold air..than you pull off of the stop light and the heat returns

so basically it only blows hot air in motion

sounds like a prob with the valve if its changing temp at one setting

the water control valve on your firewall. it has a blue wire connected to it. turn your key on, have someone sit in the car and turn the dial for the temp to full hot and full cold, and see if the valve open and closes. if it doesnt, replace it. if it does, my next suggestion would be to do a coolant flush and change.

this isnt a valve problem. sounds to me like you have poor coolant flow to your heater core when youre not moving. you might have a blockage in a heater hose or the core itself. id suggest changing the coolant and replacing the thermostat.
