I found a great deal on a honda accord coupe yesterday but there is one problem with it.
The girl who i would be buying from said that the catylitic converter is clogged which effects the starter sometimes so it takes a couple times to start.
Does this make sense?

I agree get it checked out or at least have her prove to you that diagnosis. That doesn't strike me as something that people would know. chances are someone along the lines told her that it was a possibility among other things and she took it as a sure thing.
I work a computer help desk at my school and see it all the time. All it does is make diagnosing the thing harder as you don't know where to start.

Thanks, I was confused when she said the cat was preventing it from starting. She said she took it to the honda dealership. Its a V6 coupe and she wants $1400 for it. 189000 miles.
$1400 for a 98 coupe is a good deal, if it starts, runs, and the tranny isn't slipping. If you can't drive it to evaluate the tranny, I'd pass.
also the timing belt is just about due at that mileage. factor you abilty to change it or the cost of having somebody do it into your offer.

i drove it yesterday, it seemed to drive nice. When i started it, it just seemed weak to start... didn't seem like the starter. I guess i'll take it into honda maybe and see if they can check it out.
