I am asking this for a friend of mine. She has a brother who owns a civic si 2006 and she wants to get him a intake for xmas. What would be the best choice right now?? She showed me AEM cold air intake on ebay for 206.00, not sure if thats the best one out there. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks guys,

Haha for the money you guys spend on an Injen CAI, do you realize what kind of gains your getting?

Your gaining anywhere from 1-4whp (4 being rare) and anywhere from losing a 1ft/lb of tq to gaining 3ft/lb's which again is rare.
The x-intake undeniably has made the most power out of all the intake for our car, but a majority of that has to do with his modified MAF housing, not the intake design itself.

I personally like the K&N short ram intake... but most other's recommend cai...
the K&N shows some nice gains, and nice sound tho, and has a heatshield...

Discontinued though, for some unknown reason.

Injen CAI + Tanabe Medalion Touring Catback = no cops, mature growl, noticable power gain, overall sexytime
Thats just me though, others want to be heard a mile awaywith other catbacks

No way its gonna produce 15whp. I believe it produced close to 12whp on the DC5 but thats also without a MAF sensor. I would be surprised to see it produce more than X's intake, but it certainly does look cool, and will probably generate decent numbers if and when it ever becomes available. The only part that kinda sucks is having to relocate your battery.

eh, i agree with you, but with a hondata reflash and a header or exhaust, you start to get some pretty noticeable gains

Yeah and with a well designed intake, a header, exhaust, and reflash you see even bigger gains.
I mean with all of that done you better see some noticeable gains. The point is the Injen does not maximize the potential gains from an aftermarket intake. And there are ther intakes that have been proven to produce more power.
