FAlling Apart? WTF ?
Hey everyone , it has come time for me to blow off a little steam again .
Tonight i was driving around , and as i pull into dunkin donuts , my shifter feels weird , not that weird , but enough that i felt it , then i went to put it in reverse , and my shift linkage is completley off , at the trans , good thing i wasnt moving or crrrrrruuunnnncccchhhhhh , ive been in a car that the linkage fell off on the road , and dented the hell out of my friends crx's florrboard , and made a taco out of te linkage , so i call my friend and he comes with some washers and bolts , welll the heads of all the bolts fit through the washers , so that diddnt help, then we welded 2 washers together , one inside the other , and it worked , so all good , right ??
WRONG !
Iwas on My way to the late night 24 hr. deli spot , wich happens to be cherry valley in whitestone , for all you New Yorkers , and on the way home i hear a bolt go flying off the bottom of the car , then another ,i was only going like 15 mph , and i diddnt want to stop in the neighborhood i was cutting through on my way home to check what was happening , so i continued on , shifter feels fine , so im ok , all of a sudden a little bump , and another tink ta tink , VRRRRROOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMM , My exhaust bolts all rattled off , ( they have no springs ) and came off at the header , well i dont need to explain how loud that is , so im crusin and get yanked , again , ticketed for "loud exhaust" diddnt matter to this jerk that i had what you would call " NO exhaust , but he diddnt care , so thats where im at , i need some bolts and a drink
But nothing is broken , so im not that mad , but this still sucks , 2 things in 1 night FTL! BOO

I bet it was either somewhere close to or in Bushwick or somewhere close to or in Corona. No offense to anyone who lives there but y'all know whats up. You never leave your car out of sight in these places... rule of the thumb. I drove my ek through Bushwick on evening, just to get out. By the time i got home, there was 6 messages on my voicemail asking me if i was there and how many people were following me... Yeah, they were following me home.

A tip, Get new spring bolts @ Honda for an S2000. The shank is the same length, the threads are longer. I fitted a JDM ITR header to my stock cat and the larger dia. flanges need the extra threads to get nuts started. Otherwise you'll wrestle with it 'till angry. Use the springs, they apply correct pressure to the swivel joint (if you have the stock design here), also always replace the nuts, they're one use only and may loosen if reused.

NYC... and the shady place
The shifter stabilizer rod has fallen off twice in 7 years on me
but only cause the bolts were not tq to spec... my bad.
For a quick fix, I have used the bolts from the ABS bracket, actually it's still holding it together
As for the ticket, easy get a reciept from a muffler shop for parts and labor- show it to the judge with detailed pictures and should be good.

i had a stabalizer bar fall off on me too,
when you hear a "clink, clink, DING DING Dingdingdingdingdingdingdingdingding" thats usualy not a good sign while driving down the road
i had to push my car threw a BIG intersection, down the road like 100 feet to turn off, another 50 ft(uphill-ish) then about another 100 feet, luckily i ran into somebody i knew, got a ride home, got some tools and another bolt/washer and a jack, bada bing bada boom starbucks parking lot/honda fixing zone
guess i should trq to spec or put some loctite on next time
sucks for OP but atleast its really minor stuff that can be fixed, just make sure you tighten all your bolts next time

I was driving in the Type DX one day and I saw sparks flying in my mirrors. I pulled over and my muffler was hanging. The piping had rusted off the muffler. So I zip tied it up but it was still at a massive angle. This started the crooked muffler trend.
