Default Bought a header.....next question

OK so i just bought a DC 4-2-1 header, now heres my next question.

I bought this car recently (93 Del Sol si) and it had a new cheap exhaust on it. will this header bolt up to my "stock" exhaust or will I need to have a new exhaust ran?

keeping in mind that I am new to this and I know I probably sound like an idiot,

you are saying that I should be able to yank the manifold and bolt in the new header in the same location as the original manifold both at the head and the exhaust pipe down below ....correct?

Correct. The only problem you may run into is getting the old 02 sensor out of the manifold. I was never able to get mine out. If you get yourself an 02 sensor wrench (has a special cut-out for the lead to pass through) and warm the engine up BRIEFLY before attempting to remove it, it MIGHT come out. Be prepared to lay out $150 for a Honda piece or $75 for a universal if not.

don't waste your $ on a sensor wrench.. use an adjustable or the right size wrench.. it's just a hex bolt on the o2 sensor.. just disconnect the wire first and you'll be home free

hese asking about a header
and your telling him to swap?

at least answer his question before you go screaming spend 2500$ on a swap

the header will bolt up fine.

the car has a 1.6L SOHC. since its new to me I still have everything to do. selling my Jeep will give me about $4000 to spend on suspension, motor, rims/tires, body kit, etc.....
I was just wondering where I should start. The header was a must due to a cracked exhaust manifold and I thought I would want it down the road anyway.
Why am I hearing things about cutting the stock springs to lower the car? Is this a good cheap way to do it? arnt the springs progressive, and if so what end do you cut? once again sorry for the billion questions but I dont know JACK!!
thanks for the help, you guys rock!

yea, if your gonna do it, do it right the first time with the suspension. Definately dont cut your springs. Get some aftermarket springs and a good set of shocks and youll be good to go. And do it all at once, dont throw new springs on with your stock shocks, cause down the road soon, youll have to replace that blown shock and pay someone AGAIN do install it, just do it all at once since the install will cost u the same. Ive been runnin on Nesupeed Sports and Tokico hp shocks for about 2 years now with no problems so far (knock on wood). These shocks cost about 240-250 bux for all 4, so its not that bad and they work fine for regular street use. Their are a lot better, but its up to u what u want to spend.

Let us know of what u think of the hp difference with the new header on the sohc.

OK great, so I have somewhat of an Idea of what I want to do now. This car is in great shape but it does have 160,000 on it. I can do all the work myself so Im not worried about paying someone to build my car.

Since the car has a bunch of miles on it and the motor is stock, Im thinking I want to swap in a h22 motor. how hard are these to find. and what am I looking at as far as prices (new/used). If I did this would this be "doing it right the first time" ?
