stock bumpstop on gc/konis
Hey guys, currently installing my koni/gcs. Just had a question.... where does the oem bumpstop go on the koni shaft? Im having trouble getting it through the piston rod because of the welded metal at the top of the rod. Also... orientation? THanks
first of all, you got to cut the bumpstops in half. use the top half.. and then force it down in there. If its not possible to force it, you will have to use a dremel to make the holes bigger.
Good Luck

Thanks I just cut them... I have everything in order now... except for one thing.... Seems like I didnt get any new collars for the top mounts. The old oem collars dont fit on the koni shaft.... Would I be ok installing the top mount with bushings but without the collar?
Oh yes and one last thing... the bumpstop washer sits on top of the weld on the koni shaft correct?

The collars, I do not know what you mean. Pictures may help to understand what you mean.
No the bump stop washer does not need to be there. Just the white washer below the bump stop thats it.

The collar is the hollow metal piece that goes through the top mount and the rubber pieces. together, they go on the piston rod shaft. I seem to be missing them, because the stock collars are too small to fit on the koni shaft... Yeah.... iuno where i would get the collars do you think i need them? Sorry if you still dont know what i mean, ill try to get pix
Yes, you do NEED the collars!!
and the for the washer. yes, the washer does go on there. the collar/rubber bushing rests on it.
Picture did help me alot to understand what you are talking about.
