Is there any way to know if the wing on my friend teggy its a real type R, or just a replica?

 

i took my wing off before and the only thing i could tell you is the vin #'s ??

and no 3rd brake light....thats the obvious one though

 

It should say honda on the bottom of one the legs

 

My OEM spoiler is off, I'll go take a l00k...

VIN # on the wing itself? never seen that.. the word Honda molded into it is the only way I know of..

 

this is what it says on the bottom of both "feet" of my ITR wing, verbatim:

HONDA
&gt;UP-G I K&lt;

Thats right. If I remember correctly, the words Honda can be found under the drivers side foot of the wing, maybe both.

Yup. Just looked at mine and it pretty much says the same, it's a PY Spoiler and has the said in a small square cut out of the mounting adhesive...

...is what mine says, might be a little different depending on colors...

...and yes it's written on the feet of both sides.

ive seen a ITR wing with LED brake lights exactly like the GSR wing. i asked the guy about it and he said that its the type R wing with optional brake light.

is it OEM or just aftermarket? ididnt get a chance to sit and chat with him, just had that simple question while i was at a light.

 

The itr wing with the brake light on it is a aftermarket wing. My friend had one before.

the guy at the light probably meant that it was a "Type R-style" wing.

either one looks okay to me, whether it's OEM or aftermarket, with or without the LED brake light strip. it's just a matter of personal preference for looks and/or authenticity, and vice versa i guess

Took it off just to check it! it is an OEM one.

probably referring to the comptech ITR wing? didn't they make one with the brake light?

Isn't there a Honda optional equipment wing without the brake light? I was told there's one that's OE, but has some sort of marking in the bottom of the center.

 

Have him and yourself sign up for drivers spots at Expo 8 and we'll tell you if its real or not.
