Default Adj Gears w/ Stock Cams?

I want to add a little more power to my car before the next drag day but dont really want to spend the extra $500 right now to get a set of cams. Would it be worth it to get adjustable gears to run on my stock GSR cams or should I wait to get the whole package and not waste my time right now? I'm also upgrading the FPR and Fuel Rail if that helps. Thanks.

It will help a little if you get it tuned on a dyno. Dont expect huge gains but there will be minimal ones due to your I/H/E. Advance your ignition timing to 18 degrees as well when you race. I dont know if the Fpr and Fuel rail will help you because you wont really need to up the fuel pressure for your current mods. Its a good upgrade tho. maybe look into a high flow cat.

Tuning will help you get that edge you need. Tune tune tune.

That seems a little wild, especially on a non VTEC motor. What mods did you have before tuning the cams. Did you have a SAFC?

all cars are different, so everyones settings are different. there are alot of fators into that. (elevation, temp, motor). here are some good facts tho. i quoted this from someone in the tech forum.

If you retard the intake cam your engine will breathe better at higher rpms but you will sacrifice low rpm performance.
If you also advance the exhaust you'll have more overlap and more time in between valve events. This will allow you to make more power up top.

I'll give you guys some numbers and general characteristics.

112 lobe separation angle gives good low end reponse e.g. RV, Stop N Go Apps.
108 lobe separation angle gives good gives good overall power. Street Apps.
105, 104 lobe separation angle gives good top end power. Drag, Land spped Apps.

For example the low lobes on B-series Vtec are 112 and the high lobes are 108 so you get very little compromise with these cams.
