Ding repair, and paint job... decisions decisions...
So I recently purchased this car, and it had a lot of door dings on it that need fixed, and a minor bump on the driver front fender. I'm lucky enough to have family in the paint and body business and can get most of my work done for free (cost of supplies only). So... I am considering having the car stripped down to the metal, and painted Rio Yellow Pearl (S2000 Yellow). Put my set of 2006 Si wheels on it, after getting them painted Berlina Black. Then later will come a quad projector headlight setup, blacked out JDM style, lamin-x the tail lights, and some dark tint...
Still considering a 'maybe' on the type-r style wing... everyone seems to have those, but im not really feeling the stock spoiler. Maybe I'll just take it off and fill the holes.

I dunno, I think a nice retrofit quad projector setup would look nice on these. S2k or TSX lows and FX35 highs. Mmmmmm. The tail lights will be a judgement call once everything else is done.

You would be absolutely nuts to strip the car to bare metal. First, you are creating a hell of a lot more work for yourself but you are also removing factory rust inhibitor (which no sealer could ever match). Cars are RARELY stripped to bare metal (maybe on an older (50s) car that has numerous paint jobs, a complete restore, or a car that could be taken off frame to be acid dipped). But to do this to a rsx, ep, or nearly any Honda is outrageous.

It may get down to the metal anywhere there is a heavy dent or scratch, then puttied up and sanded smooth, but there is no reason to strip the whole car down down before repainting. Even if you had the money, sanding/grinding (
) to bare metal is going to look worse/lose rust inhibition. Putty is not used on bare metal, putty is to be applied onto primer. Filler/etching primer/sealer on bare metal.

Mud,putty, filler blah blah blah. It's put on before you put the guide coat on the primer and wet sand it, You fill in the uneven spots and sand them smooth. Then put your coats of primer, your guide coat, then wet sand it smooth until you have no dark spots left from the guide coat.

If I was going to paint my EP, it would be Milano or Rio Yellow.
