Default Rear Brake problem

i have 2000 civic HB and i recently did 5 lug swap in the rear. (Front i have JDM 36mm ones and can;t install it at the moment). The wheels are USDM ITR's.

Anyway, my car has 5 lug only in the rear and when I accelerate or hit on the brake, i hear knocking sound from the rear. I hear it only hear it once or twice after i start up the car.

Also, the rotors are machined, and the pads are brand new. However the rear brake is making the metal scatching sound, just like the ones you hear when your pads are all worn out.

So have you pulled the wheels off to re-check the brakes again and see if anything is loose or rubbing?

yes, in fact i did it today. I took the rear caliper out and re-installed the pads. I was able to find what was making the knocking sound; it was the pad missing the shims. The pads had some play in the caliper so whenever the car was moving, the pads moved up and down in the direction of the rotor spinning and hit the caliper.

However I am still getting the metal scratching sound from the pads and rotors. It is definitely coming from the contact of pads and the rotor, but i dont know how it is making the sound though. I used USDM ITR pads on JDM itr 5lug. They are the same right?
