I recommend that you "upgrade" your bank account. And by "upgrade", I mean you should really save your money instead of buying random parts. In the meantime, do some research to see what path best fits your intended use of the car and your budget.

You probably won't see any huge gains in the torque department until you get serious and try to stroke the engine. If funds are an issue, as stated above I/H/E are the basics. After that, it'll take some money to see any real huge differences.

Well since you said funds aren't that high, you're pretty much stuck since you got the basics. Keep saving and research.

FYI
If you go turbo, you can't use your intake or header anymore and more than likely you'll want to get a new exhaust system more suited to your turbo setup.

haha

I wanted to stress that because it really sucks if you get parts that you regret buying later on.

1. Pick-Up more hours at work.
2. Save Save Save!
3. Swap that b16 or forced induction(turbo,supercharged,N2O).

$400 for a b20 bottem end and you will never regret it, you can sell the b16 block and the b20 block will only cost you pennies

if you really want gobs of tq, youll have to go turbo and possibly build up your motor. have thousands of dollars on hand if you go this route

B16 and torque don't belong in the same sentence.

The only way to get it is some boost, or like others said - B20 bottom end.

I think H22 with your current trans would be a bitchin setup for all motor.

And that basically sums it up!

Have you seen the H2B adapters?

H22 transmissions (IMO) stink. You already have a great transmission, and you can actually spend the same amount of money - if not less - by keeping your current trans and getting just the H22 longblock. You'll need the H2B adapter and while you're in there, it'd be a good idea to replace the clutch/flywheel. I personally also think it'd be a good idea to replace your Input Shaft Bearing and Throw Out Bearing. I have had two cars where when I swapped trannies the bearings soon went bad. So I spend the extra $20 now and replace them while I have the trans down. Bearings suck. /rant.

But in all seriousness... get the H22 longblock and Evolution industries H2B.

add a b20 to the bottom end for the cheapest route, or for the most bang for the buck, add an h22 to the b16 tranny.

my quick $.02
