H23 manual tensioner on an H22?
Why do people replace their H22 tensioner w an H23 tensioner? What is the advantage too this? Should I do this as well...? My head is being milled 20k..
Any advice is appreciated...THX

Well i think it is more reliable than the h22 auto tensioner. Its a lot easier to make any adjustments in the timing area because you don't need to take the auto tensioner anymore. You will not have to compress the spring like in the auto tensioner. You just need to tighten the bolt with the h23 tensioner.
If you don't want the h23, I believe the new auto-tensioners are stronger now. I have not heard anything bad about the new auto-tensioners. I think they are a little bigger. I have not seen it personally but thats what people have said.
I had my h23 tensioner for over 4 months now and no problems. I remember when I changed my cam gears and did some adjustments, my auto tensioner would start failing after 1 month or so. But im happy with the h23 manuel tensioner now. It just gives me piece of mind.
Good Luck. Hope this helps
