idiot newbie to civic modding needs help - need local shop at least...
...so, bought my honda civic si '06 thinking it would be a fun everyday car with a bit of performance that i wouldn't need to modify...
...now i think i've got the bug to try to upgrade, although i'm not the most technically advanced guy around.
so...how do i go about finding a good shop to help me with installing the various parts i'm thinking of upgrading (intake, suspension, muffler, perhaps s/c vs turbo).
i've done a zillion google searches in for my town (austin) and haven't come up with much that is honda specific...some for nissan and bmw, but not honda...
suggestions on where to start/how to find someone to do my dirty work for a price?

There's nothing wrong with being a newbie to modding. And certainly no reason to call yourself an "idiot" in your thread title.

There are a few good tuning shops in Texas. I know Texas is big enough to swallow some countries, so I'll leave the geography to you.
This is the best thing I can recommend:
https://honda-tech.com/zeroforum/90
That's the Texas/Oklahoma regional forum.
There's actually a thread there called weekly Austin meets.
I'm sure you can find someone in there that would help you learn, or even help you out, if not recommend some good local shops.
Just be careful getting into modding, I made a few mistakes.
DON'T CHEAP OUT! If the good shop charges 500 and the cheap one charges 300, just cough up the extra money. You get inexperienced people or inferior parts used, and it can cost you much more down the line. Do it right the first time!
Don't pay all up front, and make sure you get a receipt or contract IN WRITING, signed and dated. If htey hold your car excessively long, you'd need that to get some legal action.
