Mods for my SI??

I just got a 07 civic si sedan and I wanted to know what whats the best route for moddin my civic? For now I think I wanna get a aem cold air intake and a skunk 2 exaust. I cant do to much else because it will void the warranty. Also is there any simple way to get horsepower like changing the ecu or a fuel pump or something? Last but not least is there a rev limiter in the civics cuz I seen some civics peel out for a long time but I cant
Either I suck as a driver which im sure I do or the rev limiter wont let me.
Also I would like to put that I dont know to much about modding civics so any and all imput would be greatly appreciated!!

You will have to extent the Skunk 2 exhaust as it is made for the coupe and the sedan is longer. Mod all you want it WILL NOT void your warranty, im sure IT guy or someone will explain that in the next post
its gonna be hard to get improvements from the intake and exhaust from the new Si. for the first time in civic history, honda actually spent quite a bit of time on R&D on this. A buddy of mine works at Honda R&D in ohio and said that in most cases, people were seeing losses in power from aftermarket intake and exhaust.

actually corsport sells the skunk2 70mm for sedans now

I'd like to see proof of this. There have been many back to back intake tests on these cars. If you look hard enough in this forum you can find some of them.

My '08 Si sedan will arrive later this month, and personally, it is my preference to stay away from turbos/superchargers. I will begin with new suspension, then a set of new 18" wheels, eventually make my way to new headers and exhaust, and finally a custom reflash of the ECU to optimize performance.

who's going to do your custom reflash? I know Hondata does custom reflashes for manufacturers like Comptech and Hytech, but we are all stuck using the off-the-shelf reflash. Still crossing my fingers for K-pro (or whatever they end up calling it)

nice dyno. that shop tunes engine management systems. no engine management systems for the 06+ si.
so you're using the hondata reflash and going to the dyno to check gains?

Well, if I'm not mistaken, their tuners can reflash the stock ECU ("engine management system") during the dyno test. I will have my car later this month, but I don't intend to dyno/reflash for at least another six months to a year.

Yeah their tuners could probably tune your ECU on your car IF you had a K-Pro, but there is no K-Pro for our engines yet.

"Yet". I recall stating I wouldn't have this done for "at least another six months to a year". Remember that...?

ok. but when using a k-pro you aren't reflashing the ecu. The k-pro is a board installed in an ECU with a USB interface. This allows the factory ECU to act as an engine management system and the calibration to be modified via laptop.
http://www.hondata.com/kpro.html
here's the info on the current k-pro. hopefully they'll make it compatible with DBW and MAF in the next 6 months to a year and you can tune the car the way you want. Otherwise, you reflash and use the off-the-shelf tune like we said before.

Either way, I'm sure I will be satisfied with the results. Thanks, IT.
