Steering wheel size?
I'm preping a 2000 civic coupe for regional racing. The car will have an 8 point roll cage (1.5"x0.095" Mild steel). What size stering wheel is used in an ek 330mm or 350mm?
Thanks!!!
Thanks!!!
Does it have power steering? If not, go with the 350mm. If it does, then its more a matter of personal preference and gauge placement (for visibility)...
I swtich the rack to a manual one, so no pwer steering! I wante to make sure the 350mm wasn't to big..thanks
Out of curiousity, what size is the OEM EK wheel?
Cheers

If you take all other variables out of the picture, different wheel sizes offer different input and feedback... larger wheel requires bigger range of movement but will need less input to make movement, smaller wheel offers precision but requires more pressure to make the incremental movements... driver preference...
I prefer to run smaller for precise movement, but I suffer from arm pump at times.

Tape measure...funny!!!!
My car is actually getting a cage put in and I sold the OEM wheel with air bag lol
The reason I asked, is that all my track time are with the OEM wheel (with the air bag removed obviously)....I'm guessing the OEM wheel was on the bigger side so I will go ahead and order a 350mm with a yellow reminder at the top!
Cheers!!!!

I guess it really depends on car weight and driver preference. Our '90 RS integra has a 320mm Momo Corse/MonteCarlo wheel, and we converted the power steering rack to manual (still have the quick P/S rack ratio) and run 225/45-15 DOT-R Nitto NT-01 all around. Not tiring or requiring too much effort at all to drive in 20-30 minute sessions. The 320mm MOMO's with fat thickness just feel great to drive with! A 320-330mm diameter wheel seems just right anatomically to me, 350mm+ is too big and clumbsy for me.
Random sidenote: for your cage, is that tubing diameter and wall thickness enough according to your ruleset for the weight of that car? Down here with NASA that'd be the sizing if the car was under 2200lbs.
anyone know the size of the rsx type r wheels, and the s2000 wheel? I'm looking for a smaller wheel but I need an air bag to keep her on the road.
I have no idea, but those may not fit. There are some different spline counts and base shapes. With modification, anything will work of course. JDM ITR SRS is available, and is 350mm I believe.
Wow 5 year old thread... But guess what?
The information here is correct... 350 is what i use and advise as well.
Anything smaller and it makes sterring difficult.
