How do you remove the ashtray in the console for the rear?

How do you remove the ashtray in the console for the rear?
It's the one for the passengers, I've tried and pried, but I don't want to break it. Do I have to remove the whole console each time I want to dump it?

There's a tab in the middle-top that you can see when you open the ashtray. Push down on the tab and keep pulling the tray open, it will come out.
