Sedan Japan Made???

Hey Guys

I have a 96 Sedan and I live in Canada.

I need a new parking brake cable and there are two options:

Japan Made (left and right cables)
excl/Japan Made (only 1 cable)

How can I tell where my car was made? VIN number?

According to the Honda factory service manual, the 1996 Canadian Civic sedans were all made in the US.

Here's how you tell from your VIN to make sure though.

Look at the first three digits of your VIN. They will be one of the following sets.

1HG
HONDA OF AMERICA MFG., INC.
HONDA Passenger Vehicle

2HG
HONDA OF CANADA MFG., INC.
HONDA Passenger Vehicle

JHM
HONDA MOTOR CO., LTD.
HONDA Passenger Vehicle
