i am the new kid to owning carbon fiber. i just had a carbon hood put on from VIS and i want to know if i can wax the hood. and i just got my car repainted how long should i wait to wax the car?

 

depends on the paint, im not sure on that, but you can wax the hood anytime, and it comes out like a mirror, i have a vis hood and the clear is amazing, with a little elbow grease you can rreally make there basket weave pop.

 

with waxing it mainly depends on the paint and what was used, but most companies recommend waiting 90 days

 

I had my ViS hood blocked and cleared, makes a world of difference....

 

dont wax new paint since it's not filly cure

most of the cheap cf overlay fibreglass hood are gel coated only, not clearcoat

 

You will definitely want to get your carbon hood wetsanded and clear coated. The Gel coating that comes on the CF hoods isn't all that great quality.
