need info.........rotor screw
are the screws that goin into the rotor and to the hub needed, i read somewhere that they were only needed for the production of the car to hold them on before the rims were placed on.............input please
no, they aren't needed.
When I did the brakes on my 95 EX I was able to get those screws removed with the use of an impact driver. So I used new screws when I re-assembled but I just didn't put them real tight, just enough to hold the rotor on.
Now when I did the brakes on my Civic the front have that same screw and I was only able to get one from each side off with the impact driver. So I took a drill to the two. This time I didn't put anything back in to hold the rotor. The biggest pain is keeping the rotor in place when putting the caliper with new pads back on, but even that isn't bad just takes a few extra seconds. And once you put the tire back on that holds the rotor to the hub tighter than those screws do so no, you dont need them.

YOu must be talking about rear rotors.. If i remember correctly, frt rotors on a 95 are hub over rotors,, rotors are held on by the 4, 14 mm bolts, (socket size) ,,and it does not have the 2 phillip screws ,,

yes, sorry. I should have been more specific. I was referring to the rear rotors. And yes, the 90-97 front rotors are hub over rotor and do not use any phillip screws, only bolts.
