I feel stupid for asking this but I have to be sure. As some of you know I am doing an engine swap and I am lacking a transmission. Well so far I have had 3 people tell me that I can use my D-series transmission on a B-series engine. I thought this was absurd considering they are completely different engine's tho similar in design.

Some small parts are interchangeable, most aren't.

 

Thank you for clearing that up. I was telling them that they were stupid for even saying that, but after hearing that from 3 different people it gets you thinking.

 

yes, you can use your d series transmission with your b series motor. They make adpater kits for this. They also make this for h series motors to mate with a b series tranny. They also make them for h series motors to mate with a d series transmission. Im not completely sure, but i do think they have a adpater kit for a f20c (s2000 motor) to mate with a b series transmission. Correct me if i am wrong.

 

Pretty sure no f20c, I think they rotate the opposite way.

 

You're right yoffer, but I think he's just working on a straight forward application. Get the B tranny.

Im sorry, they used k series transmissions. It was a f to k adapter that was made. I dont know where, but heres a link on some pictures of the british touring car that had one in it.

regardless of the adaptor plate, you can find a B-series tranny for less than the trouble you are giving youself in finding the adaptor plate and all the jazz

 

There's also custom D2B adaptors...but yes, just find a B tranny!

 

Get a B series tranny.

yeah, you'd be retarded to go through the hassle, unless you had a specific reason for using it.

 

B-Series transmissions are decently priced. No need for extra hardship.

 

i dont know why you would want to... shrugs... unless you wanted to go for a lil while on it... and then save up for another tranny
