building a d16z6
Sleeving isn't necessary. It's rather expensive. You'd need new rods, pistons, bearings, machine work done, new oil pump/water pump/timing belt, and... that should be about it...
best wey to make a single head go fast is mill the head (shave the head a couple mm) so that u get more compression. slap on some bolt ons n tune it n ur ready to go!
ow n u should know how to race ur car. when it comes to single heads its all about how u run ur car.

yeah, a lot of people are saying to go with n/a. iv never been in a real "race" but have done a lot of driving at high speeds and am pretty good with a clutch(not tryin to sound cocky cause i know im no where close to good)

Just buy a used kit. They are everywhere on here.

from what i have read i/h/e wont help that much, but i dont want to have to put all new internels in then spend money on a turbo, is it possable to just buy the turbo kit or will i have to get new internals? what about a turbo timer?
man all u have to do is buy a tubo kit and some sort of engine management and some dsm injectors and your golden
all this talk about internals is nonsense unless your gonna boost 20psi or sumthin u should be fine at 8-10 psi on stock internals

yeah, im not worried about the work, i have rebuild a few ford engines for my truck and **** like that, but if im runnin 6-8 psi how much whp u reckon ill be pushin?
Dont try to build your D16 all motor. If your going to do anything, then boost it. Theres no sense in building the engine if your not looking for alot of power. No need to talk about internals or sleeving or cams. But it is a nice upgrade to get the zex cam
. But seriously you can push 200WHP on a decent turbo set up on a D16 without having to do any real work to motor. You wont see those numbers with all motor. I/H/E is almost pointless, you should save that little bit of money and buy yourself a nice used turbo setup, they usually go for cheap and you should'nt have too much trouble finding one. Lastly if your worried about reliability do it right the first time and get a good tune and you wont have anything to worry about.
Good luck with your decision

im going with a 75.5mm ycp vitara piston, tuner toys h beam rods, arp headstuds and a t3 turbo.
i plan to push 14 psi on my setup.
turbo is about all you can do to a z6 that is cost effective, NA is going to be expensive and not going to yield very high results.

If you are just looking for a fun daily setup, I wouldn't go boost, at least until you know more about it. Don't take it the wrong way - just my opinion. Boost can be great if you know what you're doing with it, and by knowing, you'll be faster and won't have nearly as a high of a chance of blowing it up lol.
I think if you have a D16z6, you should get I/H/E, new clutch with Fidanza flywheel, and a 4.9 Final Drive from http://www.exospeed.com. If you want more, get the Stage 2 cam from http://www.exospeed.com. They are great to deal with and everything I just mentioned won't make your car FAST, but a blast to drive around. If you're trying to race a lot, that's not the setup for you. But that thing will be peppy out of the hole.

yeah, because i dont wanna put something on my daily driver unless i know a lot about it, i did find some 11.25:1 high compression pistions made by like wisco(spell check) and it was a full set for about $550. so i was thinking about gettin a set of those because someone told me if i do n/a then i should invest in higher compression pistons...any ideas?
just turbo it run low boost and dont get boost happy. then u will have a fun car to drive that will be a hell of alot cheaper more hp and u will have alot more fun.

No no no man. Save yourself some money. If you want higher compression pistons... get some P29's/PM7's .. they are Honda OEM pistons out of the DOHC D16A1 motor.
I did some research and one of the compression calculators said that the compression would be around 13.6:1 .. which sounds high. A buddy of mine is running a Z6 with P29's and is tuned on pump gas which would make 13.6:1 VERY hard to believe .. any ideas anyone?
But you can get some OEM parts that will do the job if you are trying to stay N/A. Trans work and head work will be your go to things IMO though.

yeah f*** all motor too expensive with out the motor gains.. bc unles you know how to rebuild motors then its going to be alot more then 550 bucks to put new pistons.. u need all new gaskets from the head gasket to the oil pan.. then u may need head studs.. reccomended.. if u wanna do it rite. so im just saying make sure u do your resurch before you go neck deep in something you have no idea about.. just my 2 cents from some one thats been in the game a long time..
