Default Help with sound system!

I've heard that people can actually fry there car electrical system if they install a sub system that is pushing too much power. My friend had a 92 Celica and installed a sub system and ended up frying his car electrical system. His whole fuse box basically melted and had to spend over $900 bux to have it replaced (replaced all the wires running through the fuse box). I am a bit afraid to install a new system i bought and wanted you guys opinion.

I have two 10" 1400W Infinity Subs running with monster cables and a 2000W BOSS Amp, i am also going to be putting in a 1Farad capacitor. Do you guys think my 2000 civic Si electrical system and wiring can handle it? thanx alot guys. happy holidays

just make sure u run the correct gauge wire and have the proper size fuse near the battery. Match the fuse with the the amps fuse. Not higher or lower and ull be fine.

From the sound of it whoever ran your friends wiring wired the amps through the stock fuse box which is a HUGE no-no...

As long as you run direct power to the amps with the proper guage wire fused properly and have the remote on for the amp wired right then there is nothing to worry about...

A properly wired stereo should have AT MOST the headunit fused/wired through the stock harness...

EVERYTHING else including speaker wires should be properly upgraded wires run direct from the aftermarket amp to the after market speakers.
