Default B18b or B16 to hit 13s?

Hey everyone ive searched around and didnt really find the answers i was looking for, I'm saving for a swap and its either going to be the b16 gen2 or a b18b with b16 transmission. From what I've read the B18b with a b16 transmission is faster than a b16 swapped civic, I have never been in a b16 civic honestly so i can't say but my buddy has an ls swapped eg coupe with b16 tranny and he is running mid 14s all day long it pulls real good for being stock motor with bolt ons, and I've read that b16 swapped civic is more around a low 15 possibly high 14. My question is would it take more to get my 94 dx hatch into the 13's with a b16 or could i reach 13s cheaper with a b18b and b16 transmission and what should I do to the motors to reach those numbers. I greatly appreciate ur input

Same here, *Right click save-as*

But to answer the OP's question, just get a b18 and do an LS/VTEC. That'll be your best option if you want to stay all motor and only have those two engine choices in mind.

get a b16 swap complete and swap out the block with a gsr and you should be able to hit 13s on slicks
