Car accident.. not my fault
So monday some kid ran a stop sign (apparently he didnt see it at all) and hit me pretty hard. I think he was probably moving around 30-35mph. Luckily it was on my passenger side and not on my side or else that would of hurt. Anyways heres some pictures... what do you guys think the outcome will be as far as price? Obviously I'm not paying for it and the estimation hasnt come in yet. Body work will be done my Autocrafters in Jacksonville, Fl.

For a 35 mph crash its not too bad,it looks like some of the front suspension might be jacked cuz of how far the fender is pushed in. really hard to tell until you get those body panels off and can see the damage.
id say fixable
i dont understand how he didnt see the stop sign when its out in the clear and its a bright day...luckly he was actually following the speed limit so it wasnt that bad of an accident

I have no idea, the road he was traveling on is the road i usually come down. The stop on that street is as obvious as a stop light really. I'm wasn't to mad or anything really, I just dont want my car to be claimed by the insurance as "totalled". Since i bought the car and then put a new engine in there with only 32k miles. I'd loose my *** on the car if it were totalled.

Doesnt look too bad, I dont think they'll total it. Or if they do, you can always buy it back.
Fender, door panel, maybe hood, it looks off, tail light.
And it's an Si, so that's even better for you, worth more than a standard civic, more room for damages that wont total it out.
You're probably going to be pushing 2-3k, paint is the most expensive part, parts are easy.

I dont know about your place, but over here you can "non total" your car and you get a agreed pay and the car back from the insurance company compound and you can fix it yourself.
Thanks for all the concerns about my health
i appreciated it... just got a still neck thats all....
anyways, i got a call from the body shop asking for paper work on the new engine i had installed in June. I guess they had asked for this because i mentioned it earlier and the insurance company had called them to figure out a total value of the car. Since i paid a good amount of money for the new low mileage engine it better dam well be considered into the value of the car. Oh and the estimate came out to be $5511.93, because he left room for unseen repairs such as suspension damage.
Oh and I have a question for anyone who maybe able to help. If they do decide to repair the car, they will obviously paint the whole right side of the car. In that case one side of the car will look new and the other side old, do i have an argument here? Id like to have the car look uniform like before the accident. Its not my fault he hit me so why should i have half of my car paint and the other half not matching.

No. The insurance company wont care how you want it. They will restore what was damaged and thats all. Trust me, I've been in 2 accidents like that. Sucks, but they arent going to give you another 2500 to paint the rest of the car too.

you should talk to somebody whos handleing your car at whatever shop, becaus thats basicaly between you and them if you can get a deal, maybe like "slighty" higher price for paint and whatnot, im sure they wouldnt mind making a few bucks, and your the one whod be getting screwed by the insurance by geting only half the car painted so you might as well screw them back
