Best turbo for 400/500whp pump/race 60-1 60 Trim other?
I'm trying to figure out the best turbo that will make 400-425whp on 93 octane then 500whp on 110 octane. The GT3076 seems to be the best but I dont want to spend the extra cash on the ball bearing turbo. So what I came up for choices are
T3 60-1 .63 AR $675
T3/T4 60 Trim .63 AR $555
T3/GT40 .63 AR $875
I've been searching on here/evans-tuning/synapse turbo for dyno sheets of the 60 Trim making 500whp but haven't found any.
Motor is a B16B converted to a 1.8L using LS internals. Will be cranking 9k.
If anyone has any other choices let me know. Quickest spool and easiest to make 500whp is all I'm looking for. I don't need more than 500 because I'm keeping stock sleeves.

Go with the 60-1 w/ 82ar they have a sale on them on here somewhere for like 588 shipped. check it out, i personally run the turbo and it's supposed to be good for about 600hp max, so 500hp would be right in the "sweet spot" rang of the turbo. if you really think your gonna lean more toward 600hp go with a t3t67ho, best turbo up from the 60-1
The sc6152e is about $700 and can make well over 400 on pump and 500+ on race gas.
It should be a bit more efficient than a 60-1 as well. Good luck

An SC61 would get you there as would the 60-1; however, you might as well forget about getting 500whp out of a 60 trim because that turbo would be at its breaking point.
If money wasn't an option, i would suggest the Borg Warner S258

That is what the compressor wheel is, but the turbine wheel and the housings used are not the same ones that you see on 90% of the other 60-1 turbos out there.

The "500" sweet spot is using the larger P-Trim wheel, not the one for $588. Those use a standard stage III, and go up to about 470whp or so, (and yes, I know someone here has one that made almost 600whp with it, but it was ONE pull on a dyno, and not at all the best way to use that turbo) then it doesn't like the wheel nearly as much. For the 60-1, use the P-Trim wheel. The Silver Surfer has the P-Trim wheel used.

I don't know if what you wrote makes sense but I will try to respond. 57 trim won't make 500whp and they make a T3/GT40 "blowzilla" my buddy runs one and went 10.6 on it at 131 making 510whphttp://cheapturbo.stores.yahoo.net/t3b.html

My bad... Lol not farmilliar with the turbonetics ****. Missed the 500 on racegas part of the goal too!!! LOL
ya, 57 aint gonna do it!!
Holset can
LOL
I would think that a gt40 wheel on a t3 hot side would be laggier than ****, thought that the gt40 stuff was ALL big shaft as well... Actually i think it is. Educate me.

the t3/gt40 is similar to an sc61, gt35r compressor wheel, stage 3 or stage 5 exhaust wheels.

Mike help me find a turbo!!! Do you think SC61 is the best?? Quickest spool out of these turbos is what I'm looking for. Unless you know someone selling a GT3076.
I just made 416 on 15psi with a t3/t4 60 trim .63ar with full 3in exhaust I am sure on race and upping the psi to 20+ will get me close to 500

I made 382whp at 17psi before on a b16a but I hate the fact that I can't find a dyno sheet of a 60 trim making 500 or close to it.
416 seems a little high for 15lbs. What kind of dyno were you on and whats your set up??

i think a 60-1 with a .63 a/r will suite you fine for 400whp dd and 500whp race gas setup. you have the good head, and with the 1.8 liter bottom end should be a decent street/strip setup.
