or does anyone else hate the drive by wire b.s.! i mean i pull out into traffic and i almost get hit cause the f-ing car wont accelerate like a throttle cabled car would. i dont like to mash on the gas everytime i take off so what am i doing wrong.

The ECU only reacts a split second slower than cable throttle. Honestly....the reason these cars don't accelerate right away is because they don't make power in the lower RPM ranges. You need to compensate for that by either A) pulling out into traffic sooner and more aggressively (not recommended)......or B) waiting for traffic to pass....

well its my girlfriends car and really im afraid for her and her driving habits(women drivers you know). when i get out of my integra and then jump in her car its like a whole different breed! it just seems more dangerous to me.

the car's acceleration will not cause an accident, misjudging the car's ability to accelerate will. it just takes some getting used to.

yea! what it guy said. if you think the honda is bad try driving a BMW you can push it to the floor and count to 3. LOL! I have no trouble with mine, but the tranny sucks on the si when merging I sometimes grind 2nd with the clutch all the way in on a fast shift. and we all know about 3rd. the tranny is my only issue with this car.
Yes i have the same issues with 2cd & 3rd just anticipate traffic dude its what i do and give it a little gas if needed its not going to really hurt your mpg don't be afraid
no thats the thing.....if i stomp on the gas it doesnt move! it eventually/very slowly picks up and thats what scares me is the lack of throttle response! and i dont give it alot of gas before i let out on the clutch cause i dont want to slip the clutch so maybe thats what im doing wrong. but it just doesnt seem right.....
When I had mine, 1st gear didnt take 2 seconds to pass 3k rpm... at that point you had PLENTY of accel... I dunno, shift later i guess... you're not going to save gas while stomping on it, so you might as well stomp it on up to 8k.
