I wouldn't go any larger than 17" (with 215/50-17 tires).

Just because someone else has done it, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

There are all kinds of reasons not to - not only because they will make your car look stupid, but also because they will make your car accelerate slower, your ride quality will be very harsh, the tires are a lot more expensive, the wheels are very susceptible to damage from potholes due to the short tire sidewalls, they make your speedometer and odometer inaccurate, etc.

But hey, if that's what you want to do to your car, it's your car, be my guest.

20's fit all day. 235/35r20 or a 225/35r20 will fit as long as you have a wheel with a high offset you will be okay......... Not everybody on here is a racer or care's about acceleration... you have to keep that in mind..... Some people just what the look and don't care about the rest

i hope that you understand that it will not have that big of a lip with that offset....
a 38mm offset should work just fine with a 235/35r20. I would go with the falken 452. Did 20's on a 2006 accord slammed on eibach sportlines with a 20x8.5 with those tires and it looks like it is bagged!!!!!!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vtecsi00 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Not everybody on here is a racer or care's about acceleration...</TD></TR></TABLE>

I realize that. That was only one of six reasons I gave for not going with the larger wheels. I also said that if he wants to, he can do whatever he wants.

My dealer here is amazed at how many customers get huge wheels like that and then come complaining when their wheels get bent by potholes. The moral being, know what all the pluses and minuses are before proceeding, and if you decide to go ahead anyway, you know what you're in for.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by vtecsi00 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">a 38mm offset should work just fine with a 235/35r20. I would go with the falken 452.</TD></TR></TABLE>

The Falken FK-452 is not available in 235/35-20. It's available in 225/30-20 and 235/30-20, but those sizes are not approved for mounting on rims 20x7.5. (They're only approved for 20x8 and 20x8.5, respectively.)

225/30-20 is a better size for a '98 Accord; it doesn't throw off the speedometer/odometer by much, and shouldn't have problems with adequate clearance in the wheel wells (since it's slightly smaller than stock in diameter, and only 20 mm wider). Tires available in 225/30-20 and approved for mounting on 20x7.5 rims include the Pirelli PZero Nero and the General Exclaim UHP.

When you get into these large wheels and short sidewalls, the range of approved rim widths for these tires become narrower and narrower. That's because there is a lot less flexibility in the sidewall, being so short and all. While many 13-15" tires can be mounted on rims whose range of widths spans as much as 1.5-2.0", once you're looking at 20" tires, some of these are only approved for one specific rim width. So you need to make sure whatever tire model and size you're using is approved for the rim width you're getting. (I'm assuming from your link that you're planning to get 20x7.5 rims, which means they're 7.5" wide, measured at the bead.)

aim for a 20x7.5 wheel if you are going to do it and a 225.30.20 for a tire. You might be able to fit a 20x8 under there if the offset is high enough something in the 45-50mm range with a 235.30.20 but you'd have to test fit. Eagle eyes my friend while you drive, eagle eyes.
