Default Engine bogs...

Ok so today I got to drive my car for the first time in months, before it had been sitting at home do to tranny problems and I've been away at school. Anyways I had a four hour trip to make coming back from school so I drove the **** out of it. I noticed when passing people in 4th gear the engine bogged hardcore when Vtec kicked in. I mean it felt like i was hitting a brick wall. Vtec engaged perfectly in all other gears(didn't attempt 5th though, I wasn't driving that hard). Setup is in my profile. Anyways I'm thinking that it might be something to do with the fuel filter. Anyone else have any suggestions. I didn't take time to look at anything when I got home tonight because I was just too tired. Thanks in advance for the help.

Brian

Eh negative on the tuneup, motor has 7k on it, fresh rebuild. I replaced the plug wires in it a few weeks back, got a valve adjustment when I installed the cams (5k miles ago). Checked the plugs and they looked good. I'm thinking fuel filter or perhaps a clogged injector.

could be the Vtec selenoid (sp) My car bogged everytime I shifted when the tach landed near vtec engagement.......then after a while no more vtec . Got a new selenoid and my car was again . I have no Idea how to check the vtec selenoid thou.

If you think its a fuel issue try running higher octane (addittive) grab a new fuel filter even try flushing the injectors if that doesnt work look at the vtec selenoid. Good luck.
