Default Resale Value of EK HATCH???

So i have a 99 civic hatch and was i just wondering if someone could possibly enlightenment to what the possible resale value would be of my Ek hatch with ITR drivetrain (ie: motor and trans) might be.

It is showroom condition with the interior a 8/10 and exterior 9/10

Wondering what i could sale the car for if i do the swap as stated.

I would say around $5-6k maybe (based on what other mods), but you would be better off taking pics of the hatch, listing the mods, and creating a "TW" (testing waters) thread in your respective marketplace to see what people in your area will really give for the car.

Well, if hes got a legit, clean ITR motor in there, then it would be worth more than 5-6k. A clean title, good condition 99 hatch should go for about 5k stock.

Showroom condition and 8/10 kind of contradict each other...

I'd say you could get 6k reasonably easily...

Listen to 95Projectej1 and put a TW thread up with list of mods and condition and PICTURES. There is no way for us to give you a number without parts list and pics.

So if he drops in a $4k motor (roughly) he can expect an $8-9k offer on an EK hatch w/ B18c5? We have to realize that we will never get out of the car, what we put into it.

Just create a TW thread and see what you can get.

Exactly, OP is looking at 6k TOPS for that car (and if they know their Hondas they won't even pay ya that).

So.

Seriously. I paid $8,000 plus interest for my car, so you know it's got to be in good condition. Except that I bought it from a Honda dealer almost five years ago in Delaware.

I would have a hard time getting that, plus the money for my mods back through a sale, even if I did lower the value for miles.

When it comes to a sale, often the mods don't matter. In fact, they're more likely to hurt your sale unless you have some very high quality parts or the parts added are just stock accessories. Your average car buyer might be interested in fog lights and air conditioning. They probably would rather not have a turbocharger or a swap though. Modifications to the vehicle are going to limit your market.

It's going to depend on where you're selling this car too.

Here in WA there are a LOT of Hondas and a ton are for sale at any given moment. Then again, there's a million people looking for Hondas here at any given moment. Unfortunately, for some, having a Honda is seen as a liability simply because of the huge theft problems we have here. So I probably wouldn't make much if I were to sell my car here (and mine is in really good condition - compliments on how clean it is all the time and it only has stock parts on it).

If I were to bring it back to DE though, there are fewer Hondas for sale, but also fewer people looking for Hondas (at least last time I was looking at prices at all - about two years ago). Clean stock cars go for more there. They might not sell right away though.

You can probably get whatever you would like to get for your car... if you have time to spare. There is probably someone out there willing to buy my car for $9,000... but would I want to wait for that? And would I want to sell my car for that much anyway? Sorry, but my car means more to me than that and I believe I'd have a hard time finding such a nice car for so cheap out here.

His car doesn't have stock paint if it's white. White only came on hatchbacks in the US for 2000.

I still hold firm in the belief that it depends greatly on where the car is sold. Listing it online definitely helps your chances though.

This is why I sold mine, it was worth more if I sold it than if the insurance company bought it in a total.
