Default abnormal extremely loud screeching problem

I just got my timing belt replaced on my 1998 civic EX last week, and within this week, I experienced a loud screeching coming from my engine 3 times. When the screeching happens and I gas it a little bit, the screeching sound flutters, and when I gas enough in neutral or actually drive in 1st gear, the sound disappears. I was told that it can be my alternator belt, but is there any way to check for sure? or does it sound like a poor timing belt job? Thanks

Oh yeah, not sure if it matters, but the car has 100k miles on it.

Never really heard of a t-belt screeching.(t-belts do not slip, otherwise you would have a catastrophic engine failure lol) But it sounds like one of your accessory belts are slipping. Maybe one of your belts were not tightened enough after the t-belt was put on.

If you have a system crank it, if it squeels its the alternator belt. If it squeels when you turn on a/c its that belt. Then it could be the p/s belt if noone of those.

Did you torque the acc. belts back up after you changed the timing belt? That sounds like it's what it is.

It only makes a squeaking noise when I'm shifting gears, especially in 1st. When I shift and go, I hear a minor noise that sounds like something is loose (at least from what I can recall) for about 1-2 seconds or so and then it stops. The extremely loud noise hasn't happened again ever since my last post. Is it dangerous to be driving like this?

Did you even read what everyone just said? Check your acc belts.
