idle question?

idle question?

so when i start my car idle is ok but when i turn my head lights on the idle slowley move up to 1500 rpms and then drops to 700 and repeats any ideas would be great????

i don't see how lights would cause it to do that....is it ONLY when you turn the lights on?

yeah when i turn them on it goes up when i turn them off it goes down

Only on the cold start warm up period (you said when you start your car) or does it do it all the time?

your batt or alternator could be weak. the wires could also be shorted to another curcuit that affects the idle

lights on mean more load the iac is programed to raise idle w lights on ... check batt alt alt output and recheck idle adj procedure
