so i got a deal on a sub package with a rockford fosgate 12' punch. and we bought it and it comes with a 900 watt amp but i guess rockfords only take 300?

but the guy called us and said he just go in jensen subs and he can upgrade me to one for free and they can take around 850 and i have the power for em. so i said sure cuz he said they were good.

i got it and i love it.
but now im reading bad reviews. and i heard if you can push the sub in easily like that means its not as good and not as strong .

and i pushed the rockford sub in and its way harder to move

the guy told me if i didnt like the jensen sub then he would put the rockford in for me so ive been reading bad things about the jensen subs so i was thinkin about going back to the rockford fosgate punch.

what do you guys think about the 2?

First of all, stop pushing on your subs...

Secondly, a Jensen is bottom of the line stuff... Although the Rockford Punches are definitely entry-level, they're better than Jensen, and will last longer.

Third, what's the make & model of the amp? I doubt it's 900 watts. Probably 900 watts peak...

 

its a jensen amp as well. it says 900 watts on it.

what does peak mean? sorry im a noob with audio.

Im guessing its 900 max power which in reality if it did reach that peak power the amp would only last a couple seconds before blowing. Dont let max power get you excited look for RMS or continous power. I would say rockford punch is pretty decent depending. Is it a P1, P2, or P3? jensen is bottom of the line like the other guy said. Plain and simple yes, more watts more power........but you also have to balance out the sub with the amp.
