I signed up for an NHRA Sport Compact membership back in October, before the NOPI / NHRA merger. I wasn't sure what to expect, then this came today:






Interesting points to consider:

-Sony Xplod logo on the sticker and letter - are they still on board as a series sponsor?
-No mention of NOPI at all

 

well...that's interesting about the whole December 31st deal.

I guess the rules wont be released at PRI

yeah i just got my reregistration form in the mail.. not too sure what to do about that

 

we will still need nhra membership to accrue points in the new nopi/nhra, correct?

 

Yes you still need the membership to compete and collect points. Also license if applicable.

 

sent in my payment days before the news of merger was announced.. check cleared bank, haven't gotten anything yet???? but trust all is well,.,...

 

Well those really are collectors items.... Sony isnt involved with NHRA/Nopi from what I have been told. You all need to keep them for memories of what once was...

thats funny... at the pomona finals dinner Sony and NHRA were pumping it up about how they would be back for 2008. and that the NHRA and Sony would be here and couldnt wait for the 2008 season.... LOL....

damn i'm REALLY glad that i didnt drop all that cash to change my car around to run in Street stock....

i left after they awarded the all motor trophy....but i left with a feeling that 2008 was shaky...but i said maybe i was just reading ino something that wasnt there. i didnt here anything in regards to 08 just that they were happy with 07. but as it turns out....no more nhrasc

Although if / when I do, I'm probably not going to do it in the neon. I'm going to borrow a car that poops 9 second timeslips to make the licensing process much easier.
