Differences between revalving Koni Sports vs 3011?
I know the Sports can be revalved and converted to double adjustable. But are there other performance benefits that the 3011 has over a Sport just by it's design? Do the 3011s offer longer consistent performance over a day? Is there more stroke?
I have a set of Sports I want to send in for rebuilding, but I am reconsidering. I am willing to try a 3011 if there's a good reason too.
TIA!

The 3011's are a mono-tube damper. They have a more linear damping curve then the sports would and have a huge adjustment range. Compression is not adjustable on the car though, which it would be on the DA converted sports. If this is for a track car, that won't be a problem. It is less then ideal for an autocross car, though still not an complete deal breaker.
Thanks for the info.
So I checked out twin tube versus mono. And it looks like Mono is the way to go (unless you want to step up to Motons, etc)

Looks like I have a set of Koni Sport cores for sale.

FWIW - I really like the Koni 3011's that I'm running on my car right now. They are so smooth and so easy to tune. I leave the bump setting near full soft to soak up a lot of the curbing, bumps and surface imperfections on our tracks, then tune the rebound for balance. It's nice knowing that the wide adjustment range gives me lots of options for spring/swaybar combos and such without worrying about getting outside of the effective damping range of the shocks.
IIRC, I think it was almost as much money to convert yellows to DA as it was to buy a set of 3011's new. IMO, you'd be much better off just going with the 3011's and selling off the Sports.

These guys speak teh tr00f. Nothing wrong with twin tube at the spring rates you're going to be running on a production car. But if you want DA, sell the sports and go right to the 3011's. It'll probably be a little cheaper that way.

Yeah I've driven quite a few Civics with revalved Sports, and I do love them! But I want something that can handle my driving abuse. I launch the car over the curbs getting air (when I keep it on the track) So if the 3011s are more tolerant of that, then it's what I want.
