If you can come up with the money every oil change, go for it. It's a waste, but I've seen people waste more money on other things.

A guy on here by the name of JeffNA (I think?) had them for sale for about $5 about 8 months ago. I dont think he has anymore however.

Ehh, HAMP filters are cool, I guess? For all you JDM junky's, get some. Otherwise, opt to a Honda oil filter.

Agreed 100% If you are lookin for a way to waste money at least its better then LED anything or a gimicie all-in-one car cleaning product.

IMO probably not necessary.

like i have said before, just keeping to regular oil changes is more important in the long run then the filter brand.

i'm using hamp filters and am satisfied with them. price/filtration wise, it's a bargain in my book, especially if you've invested a lot of money and time in your motor and car in general. i can't call hamp filters a "waste."

Those people that recommend Honda OEM filters, should know that Honda filters use paper filter medium similiar to those of Fram. They're pretty fragile.

I'm planning to get Canton/Mecca remote oil filter and an oil cooler. I think this is the best way.

For the $ of a Hamp why not get a Purolator Pure One or Mobil 1 filter? They are better in filtering out small particles.

If you want something with more flow, why not just use an empty can so it flow better? Just change your oil frequently and it will all be fine, right?

The Canadian-made Honda filters are the same as Frams. USA-made ones are made by Filtech, and have been shown to be of higher quality as far as internal materials and construction goes.

I don't know about the others, but the US market OEM filters made by Filtech have an anti-drainback valve in them that some lower end aftermarket oil filters do not have.

Does anybody have any experience with K&N's oil filters? Are they a big waste of money or do they work better than the Honda OEM? Thanks.

yes i just put in the K&N oil filter, in my car, a couple days ago. It is really nice, t has a built it bolt for easy removal of the filter, it also has the anti drain back valve, and it fit on perfect, no leaking, no complaints, also it offers a year warranty , so when u change your oil again, return the old filter for a new one, thats what the guy at AUTOZONE, told me to do. he said he does it everytime.

Speaking of oil filters.. My dad wanted me to change the oil on his 90 LS.. So I went to Checkers and picked up a FRAM filter. Came home, drained the oil, took out the filter, and was just about to put in the FRAM filter and.... It didn't fit for some weird reason. Then as I was doing the oil change, I was also doing it for my 94 GSR. So then I tried to see if it would fit on the GSR and it did.. So I went back to Checkers to see what was wrong and they didn't know so they gave me my money back.. I ran over to Napa and got a filter from them. Surprisingly it was the same part number for a 90 LS and 94 GSR.. When I got it back home.. It fit both the GSR and LS. Go figure huh?/
