Powdercoating is quite different. Particles are literally baked on to the wheel forming a very durable finish.
I used trgcoating.com when I got my valve cover powdercoated, but that was maybe 4 or 5 years ago.

I recently picked up some winter wheels and tires and considering having the stock wheels powdercoated a dark bronze. I know others who have done it and they turned out great, not Civic owners though. Local shop as quoted me $65/rim to have it done. Much cheaper than buying new wheels.

Dude I said http://www.trgcoating.com is where I got my valve cover done. They've worked on a lot of Honda-Tech wheels and VCs.

Thanks guys, it cost me $300 for them to sandblast the wheels, powdercoat them, and paint the center caps black to match the powdercoat, that didn't include un-mounting the tires and re-mounting and balanceing them or the 4 hours it took me to cut tons of tiny pieces of double sided tape to hold the honda emblems on each center cap. But I went with the cheapest place around, there was another place that was going to charge me $400 for the same work and honestly I would have rather paid the extra money because I waited for 2-3 months for the work to be done right. The place I went had to re-powdercoat the wheels 3 times before getting them halfway decent, eventually I was fed up and just accepted the wheels with the few defects they have. Baisicly I paid in the long run for trying to bargin shop.
