02 sensor question

Default 02 sensor question

Would a faulty 02 sensor cause an engines idle to feather? like jump up and down from 800-1500? on a jdm b16

I don't understand how it could. The O2 sensor is only used to help the ECU make on-the-fly fuel delivery adjustments based on exhaust oxygen content. I believe that if the sensor fails, the ECU will run on a pre-programmed fuel map that essentially always runs rich to be safe. I don't think this will cause an idle surge. Check for leaks around the throttle body and intake manifold.

what he said. or if your running a chipped ecu it could be the ecu.
