Hey guys. I have a 1999 honda accord lx with an i4 vtec engine. problems i have arent that big but here they go...
1: when starting i have to push down on the gas slightly or it will start then die.
2: when i start it there is a slight squeek, also sometimes when the car is cold and driving it squeeks when i first push the gas.
3: while driving and pushing the gas the rpms will jump slightly for example from 2 to 21 and back and so on. not noticable unless looking for it.
4: also sometimes when i slow down to an almost stop the rpms drop to about zero and then go back up and the car runs fine. i had my airbox cover off which is now on and i havent had this problem for a while.
so if anyone can help me out with these that would be great. its an automatic 4 door if that makes any difference. thanks everyone.

 

same problem here at startup. was thinking of changing the fuel filter, seems a little more complicated than the average on this car.

 

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I have a 99 dx 5spd and when i come to a stop the car dies wut the hell is it

 

Could be a bad idle air control valve. There should be a diagnostic for it in the service manual, but unfortunately, I don't have one.
