FG2 handling
we'll im trying to figure out which car ima get. i know that these cars can make good power and can be quick in a 1/4 mile. especially when kpro is out. but handling is very important to me also. so my question is how good is the handling on the new si's? compared to a dc2 r, rsx type s, etc. if i do get one next year right after i put an intake and exhaust i'll go right into coilovers, strut bars, camber kit. (i dont mind a harsh ride.). and the car will see alittle track time and a good amount of time at the twisties.
thanx
was considering a used s2k but insurence is expensive and sometimes u need back seats , and an evo but its abit too expensive for one thats not beat the *** up.

DC2 > Si > RSX-S (as far as handling is concerned)
The Type R was built to be a track car. The Si was built with a mix of performance and daily driving in mind. And for a daily driver you won't find a much better value in the handling department. It pretty much out-flanks nearly every car in it's class in the handling department.

i have taken my fg2 out on some touge runs and i think its damn good stock i have never driven a dc2 or dc5, but from what i see and read these cars have great potential for being realy good track cars hear is a link on some good info for suspension http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/suspension-brakes/
cool, thanx for the replies. btw doesent the sedan handle better then the coupe? i guess it kinda makes sense since they made the r a sedan. there many fg2 track cars out there? reason why i need atleast a good platform, something that will handle well is because i have friends with some fine cars. (2 e46 m3s, 2 e90s, evo, s2k) that go up the canyons. i dont expect to be on their *** but i dont want to be left all the way back lol. (im willing to drop $2000+ for good coilovers)
if im not wrong from tests in the past, the dc5 out handles the dc2 and has always given better lap times. stock the dc5 has wider wheels. now the new si is just awesome...maybe best fwd honda yet and in japan the best civic type-R
There was a thread like this before. As i recall a Type R and new Si owner chimed in. He basically said that handling wise they are on par with each other. He said the R was more raw, obviously. I wanna say he was comparing this to a R that had an aftermarket suspension too.

The Si (coupe is what I had) is glued to the road with the right set of tires... the LSD helps a lot too when pulling back out of them. I don't think your buddies will lose you on the canyon runs, thats for sure.
